So I am working on terrain and all, I got all the pieces to make a bunch, just no time to do it yet. But anyways, my friend and I want to play, so I busted my Space Hulk out and we played inside a Ship/Building/Tunnel System/Bunker/whatever.
His list was as follows:
Leader- Tier 3 Human Wyrd - Hellpistol
3 Human Dregs - Laspistols
2 Ogryn Heavy Big Muties w/ Scaly Skin, and regeneration armed with two clubs.
He took a kroot hound and 3 Spiders as his 150 pts of beasts.
My list was as follows:
Captain- Tau Firewarrior w/Pulse pistol, Pulse Rifle, Enclosed H. Armor
Gundrone Construct
Bosun - Tau Firewarrior w/Pulse Carbine and Enclosed M. Armor
Bosun - Tau Firewarrior w/Pulse Carbine and Enclosed H. Armor
Armsmen - Kroot w/ Pulse Pistol and Sword
Armsmen - Kroot w/ Kroot Rifle
Armsmen - Kroot w/ Kroot Rifle
Armsmen - Human w/ Autogun
Armsmen - Human w/ Autogun
Basically we used most of the pieces from one set and set out a squarish playing area. We designated two ladder holes as entry points, having placed them on opposite sides. We set up our gangs within 8 inches of these two points.
We ended up doing a gang fight as our first scenario. He used his tunnels to set up his two ogryns and one human just outside of my deployement zone in a room right in front of me.
He ended up getting first turn so he moved his guys closer so he could charge me with his ambush team the next turn. I ended up moving, opening two doors and proceeded to shoot his T6 Ogryns
with my pulse fire. It was easy to hit these large targets in the open at short range so I pinned both of them down.
On his turn, the one ogryn got up from pinning and the other one didn't, unfortunately the one that didn't get up was blocking the door!!!
Having done a wound to the ogryn that was pinned last round, I decided to move my kroot down and try to hold off the rest of the warband that was coming as fast as they could to the rescue of the ogryns that were now trapped and be shot like fish in a barrel.
I ended up doing two wounds to the Ogryn that would end up trapping the guys in the room, and he went down. The human in the room decided to run and cower but with no where to run, he hid just on the other side of the door. I then pinned the other Ogryn with another shot.
Now that the one guy was cowering and the ogryn was unable to get out of pinning it was more important than ever to get his reinforcements into the fray. He moved all that he could up as close as possible.
I charged the one kroot with sword into HTH with the one spiders, easily dispatching it when HTH came around. I also charged one of the humans into the downed Ogryn to take it out. I then started to shoot up the other ogryn with my firing line, take him down. It was not looking good for the Mutant Scum now.
He reacted by passing his bottle test and counter-charging the kroot with his remaining kroot, taking them all out of action and downing the drone with a lucky shot from the 2 remaining humans.
This forced a bottle test on my turn, which I barely passed with a 6 and a 1!!!
I charged the ogryn, taking him out, and set up a firing line to meet the guys coming around the corner.
At this point, the mutant scum decided to cut there losses and run. I ended up capturing one of his ogryn which he bought back from me for 30 credits, and he got a free juve which he made a ratling mutant from. I ended up losing the drone, which I bought back. Got a bunch of skills for my guys, and alot of levels, at least one per guy. It was a good game for me, my raiting went up over 150 points.
